چکیده
The perturbations existing on a breaking wavefront can be potential explanation for the slamming pressure variability in wave impacts. Here, we investigate effect of these by forced vertical two-dimensional circular cylinder with constant downward velocity standing waves. Through experimental modelling and numerical simulation, force is measured several amplitudes wavelengths. phase tuned such that impact occurs symmetrically at instant maximum crest or trough. Our observations show coefficients vary amplitude when wavelength kept vice versa. trough coefficient more than two times flat impact, up to four impact. results are reproduced simulations they agree reasonably well general. Two analytical approaches based von Kármán ( NACA , vol. 321, 1929, pp. 1–8) Wagner Z. Angew. Math. The Effect of Asymmetric Water Entry on the Hydrodynamic Impact
The effect of the asymmetric water entry over a submerged part of a ship on the hydrodynamic impact is investigated numerically. A wedge body is considered to study and the problem is assumed to be two-dimensional. The Results of symmetric and asymmetric impacts are compared together. The effect is found significant in the numerical simulation. The maximum hydrodynamic pressure at a heel angle ...

A long-term study of four degraded streams in the upper Owens River watershed documented the recovery of riparian habitats and significant improvement in channel morphology in response to grazing strategies, recreation management, and pre-irrigation peak flows. Increased control of livestock distribution, timing of forage use and degree of forage utilization on and near stream banks was designe...

A susceptibility function χ(L) is introduced to quantify some aspects of the intermittent stick-slip dynamics of a rough metallic cylinder of length L on a rough metallic incline submitted to small controlled perturbations and maintained below the angle of repose. This problem is studied from the experimental point of view and the observed power-law behavior of χ(L) is justified through the use...

Vortex formation from a horizontal cylinder coincident with a free surface of a shallow water flow having a depth of 25.4 mm was experimentally investigated using the particle image velocimetry technique. Instantaneous and time-averaged flow patterns in the wake region of the cylinder were examined for three different cylinder diameter values under the fully developed turbulent boundary layer c...
